A COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE MEETINGS AND EVENTS
Developments worldwide have made it painfully clear that our actions and inactions are directly and very negatively impacting the world we live in today. At Event Dynamics, we are committed to rethinking, redesigning and reimagining events in ways that truly do contribute to a better world.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS FOR EVENTS
In 2015, the United Nations developed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - a universal call to action to protect the planet and improve human lives.
These 17 SDGs include social, economic, and environmental sustainability considerations that can be applied by governments, corporations, non-profits and yes, even those of us who plan and implement events.
At Event Dynamics, we work toward support of these SDGs in all areas of our business:
SDG 1 and 2: No Poverty and Zero Hunger
-
Offer volunteer programs to attendees and staff that benefit the local community
-
Work with caterers to donate left over or excess food
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being
-
Make appealing plant-based food items an option
-
Encourage organically grown food
-
Encourage exercise and promote health during the event
SDG 4: Quality Education
-
Where we can, influence programs to encourage quality and diversity
SDG 5: Gender Equality
-
Where possible, encourage speaker panels that are gender balanced
-
Provide a welcoming environment for LGBTQ participants
-
Offer facilities for nursing mothers on site
SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
-
Where possible, and where clients are looking for good local projects to support, partner with organizations to provide clean drinking water to people in need
-
Request meeting venues use Green Seal-certified and EPA-approved cleaners
SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
-
Select venues that use renewable energy, preferably including on-site solar for at least 10% of power consumption
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
-
Prioritize local vendors in our procurement process, including food and beverage and giveaway items
SDG 9: Industry, Infrastructure, and Innovation
-
Incorporate virtual/digital elements into events where possible
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
-
Consider using local volunteers who will benefit from the industry topic (students, interns)
-
Take into consideration hearing impaired, physically challenged, and non-English speaking attendees
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
-
Donate leftover conference materials to local community and non-profits
-
Feature local cultural entertainers drawn from projects that educate and develop skills
-
Minimize shipping – use local product where possible
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
-
Recycle, compost, and reduce landfill wherever possible
-
Eliminate Foam core signage and Styrofoam from the show floor
-
Reduce paper consumption and go digital where possible - online registration, mobile meeting apps – or at the very least use recycled or 100% recyclable paper
SDG 13: Climate Action
-
Where possible, conduct a baseline carbon impact of the meeting venue, hotels, and attendee travel
-
Select meeting and event venues within walking distance of accommodation
-
Offer attendees the option to offset their carbon footprint
-
Select electric or hybrid vehicles for transportation where possible
SDG 14: Life Below Water
